Technical guides

Technical guides for specifiers and contractors

Each guide answers one question, in the order an engineer asks it. They are written for use in a specification or a procurement review, not as marketing content.

How these are written

One page, one question

Guides are added as questions come in from projects, exhibitions and sample orders, so the library grows around what specifiers actually need to decide.

Answers first

Each guide opens with the direct answer, then the working behind it. Parameters are tabulated rather than buried in prose.

Standards referenced

Where a standard governs a decision, it is named — principally IEC 60947-6-1 for changeover equipment and the IEC 61439 series for assemblies.

Published with an authority note

Every guide closes with a source and authority statement so a reader can see who maintains it and on what basis.

Have a question that is not covered yet

Send it to our engineering team. Questions that come up repeatedly become the next guides in this library.
